Before We Fix Your Workouts, Let's Fix Your Sleep.

No time to read, listen on the go below:

Sleep_Doesn't_Look_The_Same

Sleep is the pillar most moms skip straight past. They go right to workouts and food, then wonder why nothing sticks. Here's what changed everything for me.

Sleep Doesn't Look the Same in Every Season

When I was breastfeeding through the night, my sleep didn't come in one solid 8 hour block anymore. It came in naps, in rest whenever I could get it, in waking up to feed when my son needed me and then falling back a sleep as quickly as possible.

For most moms, they fight that. They keep measuring their sleep against the old standard, one long uninterrupted stretch, and then feel like they fail every single night.

But, if you shift your thinking around sleep and what phase of life you are in, it can make all the difference. My sleep needed to match my actual phase of life, not some ideal from years ago and so should yours. Whether you are pregnant, postpartum (which is up to 5 years), going through peri-menopause or menopause, knowing the stage and how to adjust your habits accordingly is so important!

What I Actually Changed

For my first 6 months postpartum, I got my husband to take at least one night feeding with pumped milk, so I could get one longer block of sleep instead of constant interruptions.

I stopped turning on bright lights during night feeds. No phone either. Bright light and screens tell your body it's daytime, even at 3am, and that makes it so much harder to fall back asleep.

I made my room and my sons room an actual sleep sanctuary. Cool. Dark. Comfortable. Small changes, but they mattered.

And as my son started sleeping longer stretches, I adjusted again. I didn't force my old routine back too early. I let my sleep habits evolve with what my body and my life actually needed.

Now I'm back to a regular rhythm of sleeping 10pm to 6am, realistic and sustainable for where I am now. If you think about your sleep, where are you now and what's realistic for what you can aim for?

Why Sleep Comes Before Everything Else

This is one of the biggest myths in fitness. Start with the workout, push through, results will come.

But sleep isn't separate from your workouts and your food. It's part of the foundation underneath them.

When sleep is off, stress hormones climb. Cravings increase. Recovery slows down. Your body holds onto tension instead of releasing it. You can eat perfectly and train hard and still feel stuck, because the piece underneath it all is cracked.

That's why in my 6 pillars of health, Sleep & Recovery isn't an afterthought. It works directly with Stress Management, Hydration, Movement, Nutrition and Mindset & Joy. Fix your sleep, even imperfectly, and the other pillars get easier to hold up.

You Don't Need Perfect Sleep. You Need Realistic Sleep.

You don't need 8+ uninterrupted hours to make progress. You need habits that fit the season you're actually in.

Maybe that's a earlier bedtime. Maybe it's a partner taking one feed. Maybe it's just a darker room and a phone left in another room. Or grabbing a sunrise alarm clock like what I have.

Small, realistic shifts. Not a total overhaul.

If Your Sleep Feels Impossible Right Now

You're not doing it wrong. You might just need a plan built for your actual life, not a generic one.

That's exactly what we map out inside the program: REBUILT. All 6 pillars working together, starting wherever you actually are.
