Avoid These Top 5 Mistakes When Trying to Lose Weight!

By: Kerri Brown, Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition, Sleep & Mindset Coach

The world of weight loss can be confusing. There seems to be so many opinions like eat vegan or carnivore, do this workout to lose 50lbs, take this supplement etc. The list is never ending. When the truth is we are individuals that need some 1:1 help for really digging in to see results, but these 5 mistakes are common things I see that won't help you reach your weight loss goals.

  1. Starving Yourself: Trying to starve your body into losing weight is a horrible strategy for long term success. Your body needs proper fuel and foods to function and thrive!

  2. Following Fad Diets: There is no one size fits all diet. Just because your friend did some diet and lost weight doesn't mean it will work for you. We are INDIVIDUALS and need to eat for our own body's needs. I cannot tolerate the same foods you can and vice versa.

  3. Sleeping Under 6hrs a Night: Lack of sleep can make you pack on the pounds as it impacts your hormones, stress levels, metabolism and more.

  4. Eating All Day & Night: You can't eat for over 12hrs a day and not gain weight. We need proper eating and fasting windows for our lifestyles and goals. Our body needs 12hrs of fasting (most of this is overnight) in order to go through many processes in your body, one of those is burning fat.

  5. All or Nothing: It's so common that people are either all in or all out of their workouts, nutrition or sleep. We are not perfect but giving up after one poor decision is not the right mindset. Slow steady improvement will get you so much further. Want help correcting any of these mistakes? One on One coaching could be your answer. Check out all my coaching options here.
