You Might Not Be Eating Too Much. You're Probably Not Eating Enough of the Right Things.

Not Eating Enough of the Right Things

You've been cutting carbs.

Skipping breakfast.

Eating salads for lunch and feeling proud of yourself for it.

And your energy is worse than ever.

If that's you, I want you to hear this: food isn't the enemy. The way you've been taught to eat might be.

My Own Wake Up Call

Many years ago, I was eating the way most women are taught to eat. Small portions. Skipping meals when life got busy. Telling myself a salad was the "good" choice no matter what.

I was tired all the time. Irritable by mid afternoon. Convinced this was just what being a busy working woman felt like.

The shift happened when I started actually eating enough protein. Not a trend. Not a quick fix. Just real, consistent fuel. My energy changed within days. Not weeks. Days.

That one change taught me something I now build my entire coaching philosophy around: food is fuel, not punishment. And most moms are running on empty because they've been taught to eat less instead of eat right.

Why "Eat Less, Move More" Failed You

This advice isn't just outdated. It's actively working against you.

When you under eat, especially under eat protein, your body holds onto energy instead of giving you any. Your blood sugar swings. Your cravings spike. Your mood crashes by 3pm. None of that is a willpower problem. It's a fuel problem.

Here's the truth that changed everything for me and for the moms I coach:

You don't need to eat less. You need to eat enough of the right things, consistently. You can learn more about this by grabbing my Free Protein Guide for women.

What Your Gut Is Trying to Tell You

Nutrition isn't just about energy. It's connected to almost everything else you're dealing with: mood, bloating, sleep, even motivation.

A gut that's inflamed from processed food, inconsistent eating, or chronic stress sends signals straight to your brain. That's why so many moms feel foggy, low, or "off" and assume it's just stress or aging. Often, it starts in the gut.

The fix isn't a cleanse or an elimination diet. It's simpler than that. It's feeding your body real, whole food consistently enough that it can finally stop firefighting and start functioning. I know that simple fixes seem boring, but this is one you shouldn't ignore!

3 Simple Habits to Start This Week

Habit 1: Eat protein before your coffee Not instead of coffee. Before it. A hard boiled egg, some Greek yogurt, even a handful of almonds. This one habit stabilizes your blood sugar for the entire morning and prevents the energy crash that hits around 10am.

Habit 2: Add protein to every meal, 25g minimum Eggs, chicken, fish, lentils, Greek yogurt, protein powder in a smoothie. It doesn't need to be complicated. It just needs to be there.

Habit 3: Eat healthy meals every 3 to 4 hours This keeps cortisol stable and prevents the afternoon crash that sends you reaching for sugar or your fourth coffee. Consistency matters more than perfection here. Grab my free healthy recipe guide here.

The Other Habit That Changed Everything

There's a second shift that mattered just as much as the food itself.

I stopped saying yes to things that didn't serve my health goals just to avoid making someone uncomfortable.

If I was out for dinner and didn't want the bread basket or a shared app, I said no. If a friend wanted to grab drinks and I had a workout planned, I said no thank you and stuck to my plan. If someone offered me a second helping I didn't want, I simply said I was good.

No big explanation. No apology. No guilt.

That was new for me. I used to think putting my health first in front of other people made me difficult, or rude, or "too much." What I learned instead is that the people who matter respect a clear no, and the ones who don't were never going to be happy with any answer.

Your health goals don't need anyone else's permission. You're allowed to say no in public without explaining yourself. You're allowed to choose what fuels you, even when it's not what everyone else is having.

That confidence didn't come from a meal plan. It came from finally deciding that I mattered enough to protect my own goals, even in small moments.

This Is the Foundation We Build Together

Inside the Rebuilt Mom Method, nutrition isn't about restriction or rules. It's about teaching your body what it actually needs so you can stop white knuckling your way through every meal and every social situation.

We work on the food. We also work on the confidence to hold your own boundaries without guilt. Both matter. Neither works without the other.

If you're tired of feeling controlled by food, or tired of saying yes when you mean no, this is exactly the work we do together.

Book a free discovery call here. Let's build a way of eating, and a way of showing up, that actually feels like you.
